Designers vases – Roma – IT

Tiles: Lapis collection Ceramica Senio

The large olive tree vases for a famous hotel in Rome were designed by the architect Toni Mattioli. He has picked the brighter shades (Rosso corallo, Lago velato, Giallo senape…) creating strong chromatic contrasts. The Lapis series is perfect for covering curved walls, especially thanks to the “modulo 3” size.

Trendy projects

Tiles: Lapis collection, Stick collection, Trapunta collection, Newport Collection, piastrelle personalizzate –  Ceramica Senio

With the beginning of autumn and  the usual appointments in the field of ceramics, it was nice to discuss and share the new trends regarding styles and colours. Many of you love us precisely for our colour offer, known for being extremely wide, and for the careful research, which makes Senio products always at the forefront. Colour and style will therefore be the protagonists of the 4 projects we’ll present to you this month. You will notice their strong chromatic personality, which also characterizes our brand.

The pink colour stands for refinement, calm, elegance, optimism and love. Positive qualities we want in life… and in our homes. We’ll reveal you a secret: in ceramics, the pink colour is very difficult to obtain. Specific raw materials, often difficult to find, are needed, in addition to a lot of experience in dosing them. Thanks to our laboratory and to our highly qualified staff, who work with passion and determination, we always manage to obtain any shade of colour requested by the customer. What are you waiting for? Click here to find out the latest projects made in pink!

THE CHARME OF SENIO DIAMOND TILES IN CHIARA FERRAGNI’S NEW OFFICE

We ended 2020 with a very special project …
Chiara Ferragni has surrended to the charm of the ceramic diamond tiles branded Ceramica Senio and has decided to use them for her new offices in Milan. These 3D tiles, chosen in the 7,5×15 cm – 3 “x6” size belong to our Trapunta Diamante collection and play on the black and white contrast, evoking the coatings used in the early 1900s for the Paris metro stations (hence also called “Carreaux métro”).  A must in European interior design of the 50s and 70s, which returns to be a contemporary piece of furniture with a retro flavor, increasingly sought after in the moodboards of the interior designers.
Also for the floor, Chiara wanted to play on the chromatic contrast by choosing the particular octagonal size 30×30 cm – 12 “x12” mixed with black and white dots sized 5×5 cm – 2 “x2” from our evergreen Stucchi collection.

Industrial Style 10. ideas

A few weeks ago we launched a contest on our Instagram page in which we asked which bathroom style you’d like to see in the next newsletters. 80% of you answered: INDUSTRAL STYLE! But what is it exactly? Which Senio tiles are the most suitable to recreate this mood? The industrial style was born in New York in the 1950s. After the war the need to fnd new lowcost houses made people choose shubby spaces, such as factories, ofices, business centers, etc. This is how on the East coast of the United States a new style has developped and is still one of the main trends in modern housess! Even the bathroom could not escape this trend. The materials remind of old factories: concrete, rustic wood, metals, exposed pipes and vintage furniture! The tiles, usually brick-layed like the old bricks walls which characterized these places, are mostly white or in shades of gray, often handmade, “aged” or fnished with metals glazes to add that eccentric touch, typical of the “chic” Industrial style.

“Country Bed and Breakfast Antica Pergola” in the heart of Tuscany

Piastrelle | Tiles: Newport collection, Westport collection, Chevron collection, Bridge collection – Ceramica Senio

With our July newsletter, we want to praise the Handmade in Italy by showing you the interior design of a historic Tuscan residence renovated to a B&B using our ceramics. With its warm landscapes, good cuisine and artistic/architectural heritage, it’s known that Tuscany has always been the pride of Italy. Supporting Francesco and his family in the design of the bathrooms was such a stimulating and high responsibility to us, aimed not only to renew the bathrooms but also to preserve the historical flavour that characterizes the property. United by the common passion for craftsmanship and color, we decided together to use glazed terracotta tiles with colors in combination with the traditional terrazzo and cotto floor, preferring the 6.5×26 cm – 2.5”x10” “brick” size (Newport, Westport, Chevron collections). The result is lovely, isn’t it?

Fancy Toast_Milan

Our June newsletter restarts from a public place that has chosen our tiles for its spaces.

This story begins far away… precisely from San Francisco, on the West Coast!
It’s there, where Federica after tasting an unusual flavored toast with avocado and scrambled eggs, had a lighting and in a short time, with the help of the architect Andrea Langhi, the FANCY TOAST was born in via Vittor Pisani 13, in the center of Milan.

The restaurant makes the Californian mood its flag! The architect Andrea Langhi wanted to give rhythm to the walls and columns by using our CHEVRON tiles 6,5 cm×26 cm – 2.5 “x10 “ in bianco Kyoto laccato, laid vertically and framed by the rectangular size 10×30 cm-4 “x12 ”of the same colour.

We can just tell you: “Just chill, have a toast!”

TERMINUS RESTAURANT PORTO POJANA, Switzerland

Have you ever imagined to tile a whole public space with 3D ceramics?
In the small village of “Porto Pojana”, a gastronomy jewel nestled between land and lake in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, this dream has become true.
The project consists in the restoration of an ancient building used in the past as a resting spot for coaches travelling from Switzerland to Italy (hence the name Terminus) and now converted into a restaurant.
The interior design plays with the shades of thousands of three-dimensional tiles with semicircular section, which cover the walls like many colored crayons, creating an innovative and impressive decorative system.
