The character of this kitchen lies in the contrast between the modern, colourful forms and the textural depth of the ceramic tiles. The splashback takes centre stage, creating a vibrant colour backdrop thanks to the “Caramel medio” shade from the Mediterranea collection (4,85×20 cm – 2”x8”), laid vertically here. The Caramel medio shade evokes the density of a glaze thanks to its craquelé surface: a deep glass finish, characterised by the typical crackling effect of handcrafted enamel. This “living” texture breaks the static nature of flat colours, sparking a sophisticated dialogue between the rigour of petrol blue and the golden warmth of the niche. The project is the work of architect Marcello Cova of the TUNDRA architectural practice in Ravenna
